Where it comes from

From a 4 a.m. road trip to an AI trend

Updated

It began as real footage. In 2024 the Russian blogger Mikhail Litvin, Ravshan and Adel pulled in at a gas station at 4 a.m. on a road trip and filmed themselves: Ravshan dancing, Litvin holding the camera, Adel hopping out of the car, to On and On by Akcent. AI templates in 2026 let anyone swap friends into that scene; it is also searched as the Litvin, Ravshan and Adel dance (the story, as told on X).

The AI version on TikTok, Reels and Shorts settled into three golden-hour shots: someone dancing at the station, a close selfie and a step out of a car, as LightX lays out the format. Search for it as the gas station AI video, the gas station dance AI trend or the gas station trend.

Our gas station effect writes those shots around your face: golden hour, the low orange sun behind the pumps, the canopy lamps on. You move in sync on the forecourt, head to toe; then a front-facing selfie, smiling into a phone; then a slow tracking shot as you step out of a sleek black luxury car into the sunset.

Which sound goes with the gas station trend?

The original played On and On by Akcent, still common among other sounds. Your MP4 has an original hip-hop beat, heavy bass, no vocals; swap in any song as you post.

Getting a cleaner forecourt shot

  • Head to toe if you can: the first shot is wide, so add a full-body or waist-up photo.
  • Dress for it: the clothes in your photo are the clothes on the forecourt.
  • Nothing over the face: skip sunglasses and caps for the close selfie.
  • 5 seconds is quick for three shots; 10 seconds (8 credits at 720p) lets each one breathe.

Other trends from the same selfie

Questions

What people ask about the gas station dance

Still stuck? Contact us or see pricing.

What is the gas station trend, exactly?

A golden-hour edit of three quick shots: dancing on an empty gas station forecourt, a selfie close-up and stepping out of a luxury car into the sunset. It started as a real 2024 road-trip clip.

How do I make my own gas station dance AI trend video?

Add a photo of yourself, leave Gas Station as the effect and press Make the effect. When it finishes, download the clip and post it.

Who made the original gas station dance?

Mikhail Litvin, a Russian blogger, with Ravshan and Adel, at 4 a.m. on a 2024 road trip; it went up on Litvin’s account. RapVideo has nothing to do with them.

Can I do the gas station trend with a friend?

Yes. With one photo of each of you, or one of you both, you dance in sync and share all three shots, for 4 credits.

What kind of photo should I use?

Waist up or head to toe, in good light, with nothing covering your face. The clothes in that picture are the clothes in the video.

Which song is used for the gas station trend?

The original ran on On and On by Akcent; the gas station trend now uses it and other sounds. Your clip ships with an original beat; add any song from the app library on top.

Is there an app, template or prompt to set up?

No. It all happens in the browser; the scene, the three shots and the car come with the effect.

What does a gas station clip cost, and how long is it?

5 seconds at 720p for 4 credits on Seedance 2.0 Mini; 10 seconds gives each shot more time for 8 credits. Longer or sharper clips cost more, and the price shows before you render. No free trial: packs start at 10 credits for $9.99, and a failed render gives its credits back.
