Answer first

What Bad Times AI is

Updated : new page.

Bad Times AI is the one-photo version of the Bad Times trend. On TikTok, people lip-sync a heated argument with the camera to "BAD TIMES" by Imael Angel: fingers jabbing at the lens, a palm in your face, a hand on the hip, then one more round. @bouuhyachaka's take from 20 August 2026 had 22 million plays when we checked, and #badtimes counted over 30,000 videos and 238 million views on 26 October.

From 1 October a CapCut template made the dance from a single photo (one template post passed 4.8 million plays), and AI versions with babies, dogs and adults took over the sound. This page does the same job as an AI video effect: you add one photo, the video model follows a remix of the template for every beat, and you are the one arguing. Your face and outfit come from your photo, and the song is on the finished clip.

RapVideo.ai has no connection to Imael Angel, TikTok, CapCut or the creators of the template.

Is the Angry Dance filter the same as Bad Times AI?

Yes. Since 19 October some TikTok re-uploads call the same CapCut template the "Angry Dance filter" or "Angry Dance AI" (an example with 2.2 million plays). We compared the posts second by second: same routine, same sound, only the face changes. #angrydance has a few hundred videos, mostly older dance clips, so if you want the trend people are copying, it is Bad Times. Both names lead to this effect.

Is there a Bad Times filter on TikTok or CapCut?

Not an official camera filter. The one-photo versions come from user-made CapCut templates that drop your photo into fixed footage at the template’s own length. Bad Times AI on this page renders a new video of you from your photo, in the remix’s room, with the song added.

Inside the clip

What your Bad Times AI clip shows

01

The walk-in

You start back in the room and march up to the lens, already annoyed.

02

The finger jabs

Both index fingers point at the camera in turn, close enough to fill the frame.

03

The palm

One open hand slams into the lens, the moment everyone screenshots.

04

The comeback

Hand on hip, a turn away, then back for one last shout. The song runs under all of it.

Bad Times AI, second by second

We timed the template on the remix our effect follows. Every Bad Times AI template video keeps the same routine, and your 14 seconds do too:

SecondsWhat you do
0 to 1Stand back in the room, then walk at the camera, thumb pointing off to the side.
1 to 4Up close, both index fingers jab at the lens in turn: the argument starts.
4 to 5One open palm slams into the lens and covers half the frame.
5 to 8.5More pointing, a tilted head, then a hand flapping by your face like a mouth that never stops.
8.5 to 11Hand to your mouth, step back, arms open, a calm look to the side.
11 to 12.5Turn away with a hand on your hip. You are done talking.
12.5 to 14You are not done: back at the camera, a finger at the lens, mouth wide open.

Half the routine happens a hand’s width from the lens, so a sharp photo of your face matters more than anything else.

Tips for a better Bad Times AI video

  • Face first: the fingers and the palm come right up to the lens, so a sharp, front-facing photo without sunglasses gives the model the most to keep.
  • Show your outfit: you are full-body at the start and when you turn away, so the clothes in your photo are the clothes in the clip.
  • One person per photo. The Bad Times dance is a one-person argument with the camera; make one clip each for a group.
  • Pick the attitude you want people to see. The dance is a joke fight, so a photo where you look ready to argue fits better than a formal portrait.
  • Your own photo, or a friend’s with a yes. Faces of famous people are not for this, and neither is anyone who did not agree to be in it.
