How to Do the Bad Times Trend (Dance, CapCut or AI)
The Bad Times trend is a TikTok dance where you act out a heated argument with the camera to "BAD TIMES" by Imael Angel: fingers jabbing at the lens, a palm pushed into it, a hand on the hip, then one more round. To do the Bad Times trend, you can film the routine yourself, use a CapCut template that turns one photo into the dance, or make a Bad Times AI video that renders a new clip of you.

Bad Times, 3 ways
One photo is the fastest.
- Film it
- CapCut

On RapVideo a Bad Times trend video takes three taps: add a photo, keep Bad Times selected and make the effect. You get a 14-second vertical MP4 with the song on it, for 7 credits at 480p. All three Bad Times trend routes are below, with the routine second by second and how to post it.
What is the Bad Times trend?
The song came first: a post of "BAD TIMES" by Imael Angel (this one) was on TikTok by June 2026. In August creators started lip-syncing it as a fight with the person filming. @bouuhyachaka's take from 20 August had 22 million plays when we checked, and @benandzara's couple version, which credits her, had 44.7 million. On 26 October #badtimes counted 30,201 videos and 238 million views. Who started the Bad Times trend is not confirmed.
People also call it the Bad Times dance, the argument trend or, since mid-October, the Angry Dance filter. In every Bad Times video the joke is the same: you are losing an argument with the camera and you will not stop talking.

Bad Times trend dance, step by step
To film the Bad Times trend yourself, prop the phone at chest height and play the Bad Times sound. Every AI remix copies this order:
- Start a few steps back and walk at the camera, already talking.
- Up close, jab both index fingers at the lens in turn.
- Slam one open palm into the lens: the "hold on" moment.
- Point again, then flap a hand by your face like a mouth that never stops.
- Step back, open your arms, look away calmly.
- Turn away with a hand on your hip. Done talking.
- Not done: come back to the camera, finger at the lens, mouth wide open.

Bad Times trend ideas from TikTok
The routine stays the same; who argues with whom is where Bad Times trend videos differ. The most played Bad Times versions on 26 October 2026, all on the same sound:
- Couples: @benandzara filmed the fight as a couple and passed 44.7 million plays with a caption that says it "escalated".
- Two people taking turns: Mina and Merna’s version, captioned as their "smallest fight", passed 17.8 million plays.
- Dogs: a dog doing the whole routine on its hind legs passed 12.4 million plays (it is in the clips above).
- Long marriages: a couple tagged #53yearsmarried asked "How did we do?" and passed 4 million plays.
- AI from one photo: since October the Bad Times trend is also made with templates and AI, with babies, pets and adults who never filmed a thing.
A Bad Times trend video works best when everyone knows who usually wins the argument.
Bad Times trend from one photo, with AI
- Pick one sharp, front-facing photo of one person, waist-up or full-length; the hands come right up to the lens, so a clear face matters most.
- Add it in the editor below. The Bad Times effect is already selected, 14 seconds in 9:16 on Wan 3.0.
- Make the effect. The video model estimates about 5 to 15 minutes; the price shows on the button before you start, and a failed render gives its credits back.
- Download the MP4. The song is already on it, so your Bad Times trend video is ready to post.
Price: 14 seconds for 7 credits at 480p, 12 at 720p or 24 at 1080p. The video model follows a remix of the Bad Times template, so the room is that remix’s office at night, and your face and outfit come from your photo. We have not rendered this effect ourselves yet. The only free part of RapVideo is one 2-second watermarked preview per Google account, of the default Hotel Lobby video or the Bulin 47 Freestyle; everything else is paid with credits. More about the effect: Bad Times AI.
Bad Times trend in CapCut: the template route
TikTok tutorials for the template (one, two) all follow the same CapCut route. We have not tested these templates; this is what the tutorials showed on 23 October 2026:
- Open a Bad Times template post that shows "CapCut · Try this template" above the caption (this one is among the most played).
- Tap it, then "Use template in CapCut". If the bar is missing, the tutorials copy the post link from the share arrow and open it in CapCut.
- Pick one photo of you.
- Wait while CapCut builds your Bad Times clip, then export it and post.
A CapCut template keeps its creator’s footage and length, and many Bad Times templates are re-uploads under new names, so watch what a template makes before you use it.
Film it, CapCut or AI: which Bad Times trend route?

Posting your Bad Times trend video
- Turn on TikTok’s AI-generated content label for an AI Bad Times video: TikTok asks creators to label realistic AI videos of people. The rules are in does TikTok allow AI videos?.
- Our MP4 already has the song. To use TikTok’s own sound instead, pick it in the sound picker and turn the clip’s sound down.
- Use your own photo, or a friend’s with a yes. The Bad Times argument is a joke: keep it at the camera, not at a real person.
